About You:
I’ve always been interested in crafts, but I’ve only started card making
for the past 2 years. I’ve been ill and haven’t been schooling, and a teacher
from my school came to visit me and bought me a copy of the Cardmaking &Papercraft magazine. I subscribed and started card making from there. Then, when was in hospital for two months, I shared my creations with the other patients in there. I lose motivation sometimes but you know mental health problems! They’re always up or down!
Because of my crafting story, I was recently made subscriber of the month by Carmaking & Papercraft.

Name:
Sandy :)
About You:
I live in a small town in Victoria, Australia. I am married with 2 adult children. I started out doing scrapbooking and kind of fell into card making as a
way to use some of my scrapbooking supplies.
Now I love the creative process of card making and scrapbooking is a
definite second to my cards. I like to
do the card challenges and sketches would have to be my favourite of the
challenges. They give me so much
inspiration, but I can still be creative in the way I use them.

I am English and retired

interested in card making and scrapbooking when I retired, her two sons Tom
& Stephen are also very good at making their own cards. I am now totally addicted! My youngest daughter Helen makes jewellery
and her 7 year old daughter Elena has also become keen on “makings”. I have two sisters that are avid crafters as
well so we have a lot of interaction.

About You:
Hi! My name is Helen and I am 48, married to
my lovely Steve and have three children (Tilly and Rob are grown up and have
flown the nest, leaving my youngest, Rebekah, still at home). We have a dog, a
cat and rabbits! I live in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside in a village
just outside Banbury and work part-time in the admin office of a local girls’
school. I had a major, life-changing health event three years ago in the form
of a brain haemorrhage. Being lucky enough to survive that, relatively
unscathed, made me thoroughly re-evaluate my priorities in life, one of which
was to spend more time doing what makes me happiest and one of those things is
crafting.
My nana
taught me to knit and crochet when I was very small and my mother taught me to
sew and embroider. I have dabbled in all of them over the years but I always
end up drawn back to paper and card. I just love the versatility of it and all
the possibilities of what you can make and all the ways you can decorate it and
manipulate it. I have no formal qualifications in design or art, I have just
learnt as I’ve gone along through experimenting and following tutorials and
advice etc.

How long have you been blogging for?
Not long –
since September last year.
Currently
there are 37 followers and this seems to be added to every week J.
What is your favourite technique?
Tricky
question because I love trying out new ones all the time!
I like
playing with die-cutting and dry embossing. This week I have been experimenting
with creating my own home-made embossing plates, particularly for text,
which have
been quite successful so far.
I am open to
trying out anything you want to chuck at me!
One of your recent creations:
Oooh, how do I pick just one? I can’t decide which one to show you, so this is absolutely the most recent, it’s going on the blog tomorrow! Have a look through the blog though, as my style is quite eclectic.

About You:
I am a 44
year old Mum of three amazing children aged 26, 24 and 6. I live with my fiancĂ© and our little boy –
our girls have flown the nest but thankfully still live close by. I have two adorable grandchildren with a
little third one on the way – due this summer.
I work in Accounts and do love a bit of number crunching to keep my
brain in gear.
I started
card making in 2005 just as a ‘little hobby’.
Little did I know I would become obsessed with anything/everything
crafty! My Mum is a keen crafter and we
love to have crafty get togethers where we create and put the world to
rights! My little boy also often pops
himself down at the end of my desk and creates – he too loves all things crafty
and loves nothing more than sharing my stash with himself J

Following on from that I set up a group for local papercraft fanatics like
myself which meets monthly which has 15 members (and grows each month), I also
became a Docrafts Demonstrator in December 2012 which I LOVE doing. I also
became part of the docrafts DT for March to August this year.

What is your favourite technique?
I like trying all sorts of things but most of my cards have flowers on them. I like using real dried flowers as no one can make products as beautiful as the one who designed them in the first place.
